Miss Ripley

Spellcasted by ♣Ashes♣ at 10:10 PM 0 comments
리플리 [雷普利小姐], two very different men fall in love with Jang Mi Ri (Lee Da Hae [이다해]), a woman whose life is a complicated web of lies, propelled by her greedy desires that stem from an unfortunate childhood.Jang Myung Hoon (Kim Seung Woo [김승우])is an ambitious hotelier who maintains perfect control of himself and his life, while Yutaka Song Yoo Hyun (Micky Park Yoo Chun [박유천]) is the warm and gentle heir of a Korean-Japanese hotel conglomerate. Their love for Mi Ri and her tragic ambition eventually leads them down the path of destruction.

Ashes: I checked from various kdrama website & seems that Miss Ripley is based on the real life case of Shin Jung Ah, a university professor and art curator at Dongguk University who was discovered to have forged her creditials in order to get hired, with the help of her boyfriend (then presidential secretary) Byun Yang Kyoon, and embezzled funds from the art gallery's corporate sponsorship.

Such is life. It's pretty sad that sometime we have to tell lies to get through with life but of course not to the extend of going against the law. This kdrama have a nice storyplot & Lee Da Hae [이다해] did a good job in this character.

beethovenvirus (1)

I should have finished 'Beethoven Virus' earlier but because of 'You're Beautiful', I was off-tracked from this drama. Keke... Not that this drama is not nice, in fact the storyline was pretty good just that certain episodes were a bit (I mean a little bit) boring.

'Beethoven Virus' changed my views on orchestra performance as previously I find such classical music pretty boring. Keke...

Worlds Within

Spellcasted by ♣Ashes♣ at 11:50 AM 0 comments
The World That They Live In (그들이 사는 세상) is about the people who make these addicting dramas, and offers an intriguing perspective on the personal and professional lives of those in the drama production industry.
Ji Oh (Hyun Bin [현빈]) is a successful producer/director (PD) who created a series of critically acclaimed hits, and Joon Young (Song Hye Kyo [송혜교]) is a rising star PD attracting attention after winning an award at an international festival.
They have some history together and both just got out of bad relationships. They get back together but their romance turns out to be pretty complicated and full of drama, just like the dramas they produce.

I must say this is a pretty boring drama. The only thing that kept me continuing watching is because Hyun Bin is one handsome guy & Song Hye Kyo, as usual, a pretty babe. And, not forgetting to mention that they came all the way to SG to flim certain parts of the drama. ;)

Took me quite a long time to complete 왕꽃 선녀님 as when it comes to disc 8 of the dvd, the disc wasn't able to play & I had to go back to the shop to change it. This kdeama talks about what 'fate' is, and twists and turns of life and the beauty of love and sacrifice through those who strive to overcome that 'fate.'

Yoon Cho Won (Lee Da Hae [이다해]), brought up in a not so well off but lovely family, meek and amiable, is engaged after a quite short period of dating to Jung Soo, the son of Hang Ja Joo who has just returned to Korea after studying abroad, thanks to the two families' intimate relationship, Slowly shamanic spirit approaches Cho Won, who, as a beautiful and talented graduate student, is awaiting a rosy future of marriage life with a smart bridegroom from a rich family.

One day, she goes to a nightclub with her friends, and faints when she recognizes ghosts on big speakers while dancing. Her friends assure her that she must have mistaken something else for ghosts, but from then on, she loses her appetite and gets increasingly exhausted, symptoms that even doctors don't know the reason for. Cho Won, who has dismissed the symptoms as those caused by a mere headache or fatigue, happens to visit a shaman named Yong Hwa Boo her friends introduced out of curiosity for she has to write a paper on shamans. Cho Won's family learn that her aggravating symptoms are due to her shamanic spirit, and they are frightened. Then, does it mean that Cho Won, a founding, is destined to be a shaman?

Without informing Cho Won of this, her family have a discussion over this issue and at last her grandfather, Baek Kwang, decides to oust her from the family. Because of the love that they gave her while raising her, her father, Moon Hak, and her mother, Shi Ae, oppose the decision, but because of the firm stance of Baek Kwang, a former legal professional who doesn't want his family image tarnished, the couple unavoidably accepts his decision, breaking into tears. Cho Won's parents rent a room for Cho Won with the money they have saved.

Thanks to Baek Kwang's strict order that Cho Won leave home as soon as possible, the family of her fiance Jung Soo notifies her of its decision to break off the match. She loses her family that she loved so much, her aunt and grandmother, the perfect man, Jung Soo, and even her health. She is on the verge of giving up her life as she has lost everything overnight.
