The King and the Clown

Spellcasted by ♣Ashes♣ at 11:19 PM 0 comments
I have grown 'interest' on Lee Jun Ki's acting skills after watching 'Time between dog & wolf' & managed to catch 2 of his movies, 왕의 남자 (王的男人) & Virgin Snow
Meanwhile, I am so looking forward to his latest kdrama, Iljimae which will be aired in Korea in April. The King & The Clown
The story is set in the Joseon Dynasty during the reign of King Yeonsan, an infamously tyrannical monarch. Jang-saeng, a member of the Namsadang Troupe, comes to Hanyang (currently Seoul) with Kong-gil to escape the abuse of powerful aristocrats. After arriving in the capital, Jang-saeng and Kong-gil perform a skit satirizing the King and his concubine Nok-su, quickly attracting attention. The palace learns of it, and they are arrested. While enduring excruciating torture, Jang-saeng raves that if given the chance, he could make the King laugh. Fortunately, he is given the chance to prove himself.
Performing before the ruler makes the jesters nervous, and despite Jang-saeng’s best efforts, the King doesn’t laugh. But when Kong-gil appears in drag, playing the role of a shrewd woman, the king cannot control his laughter. The two are appointed as royal jesters, and from then on, live a life of luxury.

Their parodies satirize the corruption of public officials, which keeps the King in a jovial mood. On the other hand, members of the court who are depicted in the jester’s skits are severely punished. At a royal banquet, the jesters perform a Korean opera depicting feminine rivalry. This awakens in the King painful memories of his mother, and he puts all of his late father’s royal concubines to the sword. Troubled that their comedic skits invariably lead to bloodshed, the jesters decide to leave. For some reason, however, Kong-gil wants to stay.

100 days with Mr Arrogant

Spellcasted by ♣Ashes♣ at 11:55 PM 0 comments

100 Days With Mr. Arrogant (내 사랑 싸가지) is a 2004 South Korean romantic comedy film about a high school senior Ha-young ( Ha Ji-Won) who accidentally dents a young man's car. Though the damage is minor, Hyung-joon (Kim Jae-Won) tricks her into believing that it will be expensive to fix and has her sign a contract making her his 'slave' for 100 days. The main reason to catch this rather old movie was because after watching Hwang Jin Yi, I really like Kim Jae-Won & Ha Ji-Won's acting skills. So now, I have 2 other favourite Korean celebrities beside Rain. ;)

Seducing Mr Perfect

Spellcasted by ♣Ashes♣ at 5:09 PM 2 comments
Managed to catch Seducing, Mr Perfect (Mr 로빈꼬시기)over the weekend.OMG!!! Daniel Henney is one handsome & charming hunk who melted my heart. ;) I think most ladies who know this guy will agree with me. kekekeke. Although Daniel is a charming hunk & actually melted my heart awhile ago but donch worry coz Rain will still be my final choice. ;)A Korean romantic comedy, Seducing Mr. Perfect boasts a positively electric pairing. Sexy singer-actress, Uhm Jung Hwa teams up for the first time with Korean American heartthrob, Daniel Henney. Daniel turns on the charm for his silver screen debut, while the talented Uhm Jung Hwa perfectly captures both the subtle allure and romantic headaches of the mature modern woman.Competent in work but clueless in love, Min Joon (Uhm Jung Hwa) throws herself wholeheartedly into every relationship, but always comes up empty-handed. After getting dumped yet again, this time on her birthday, she enlists the advice of her newly arrived boss Robin (Daniel Henney), a slick and handsome womanizer. He teaches her how she should really treat men to keep them interested - don't call, hang up first, let him pay, play hard to get. Robin presents her with the ultimate challenge: try to seduce him.
