Jang Geun Seok is going on a tour... in Asia!

To the lucky fans in Asia, Mother Superior has finally answered your prayers! Actor / singer Jang Geun Seok will be touring throughout Asia from March until May to promote You're Beautiful. Since his latest drama, Jang Geun Seok has escalated to fame at an alarming rate. He was even awarded the "Netizens Highest Popularity Award" at the 2009 SBS Drama Awards, attesting to his growing popularity in Korea.

However, You're Beautiful has been enjoyed not only in Korea, but online and overseas as well, being broadcasted in 17 different countries. Despite the stiff competition it faced from KBS drama IRIS, You're Beautiful managed to consistently receive high ratings and maintain a large fanbase.

With such an impressive popularity outside of Korea, it is only fitting that Jang Geun Seok travels to the appropriate countries and promotes the drama even further. As a result, he is scheduled to hold fan meetings in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

One of his representatives stated, "At the end of this month, Jang Geun Seok will be holding a fan meeting in Korea. Due to overwhelming requests from international fans, he will also be holding fan meetings in Thailand and the Philippines sometime this year as well. After completing the Asian tour, he plans find his next acting project and get back to work as soon as possible. Thank you for your constant love and support for Jang Geun Seok."

His fan meeting in Korea is slated for the 31st at Seoul's Olympic Hall.

A.N.JELL to reunite for live performance

A.N.JELL will be reuniting once more for a live performance at the SBS 'Drama Awards.'

Although they are not a real band, they have garnered in a huge fanbase through the hit drama, 'You're Beautiful,' and they will be representing this drama with the performance.

Their performance will be 100% live, and it will be in celebration for the whole awards ceremony.

As well as the A.N.JELL performance by Jang Geun Suk, Park Shin Hye, Jung Yong Hwa, and Lee Hong Ki, representatives from the dramas 'Dream' and 'Style' will also get together for a special performance. More specifically, singer-turned-actress Son Dambi from 'Dream' and actor/dancer Lee Yong Woo from 'Style' will perform a hip-hop/jazz/sexy dance number as a couple.

Also, actress Lee Min Jung from 'Smile, You' will be getting together with singer Lee Seung Hwan to perform his song 'Sarang-Ha-Na-Yo' (사랑하나요). Lee Seung Gi will also be representing SBS' hit drama 'Shining Inheritance,' and he will perform the drama's OST 'The Person Living Inside My Heart.'

This award ceremony will go live on December 31st!

Jang Geun-seok's fifth Japanese fanmeeting

Fresh off his latest drama, You're Beautiful, rising Hallyu star Jang Geun-seok held a fanmeeting in Japan on Sunday before a crowd of 2,000.

The event was called 2009 Jang Keun Suk Fanmeeting in Tokyo and was held at Tokyo's Sun Plaza. The attendees comprised fans from Japan, Korea, China, and even some who flew over from the U.S. to participate.

He sang several songs, including the song "Do You Hear It" (which he sang as part of the OST for his drama Beethoven Virus), "Good Bye" and "Without Words" (which he sang on the OST for You're Beautiful), and even a trot tune.

This isn't Jang's first time in Japan; he held his first fanmeeting there in February 2008 and has held five total in that country. His popularity stems from the numerous roles he’s had over the past several years, several of which have been exported overseas with success. Among those are Hwang Jini, Hong Gil Dong, and Beethoven Virus, which will surely be followed by You're Beautiful.

Following the fanmeeting, Jang flew back home to Korea, where he intends to take a break for the moment while surveying potential new projects.

You're Beautiful

You're Beautiful / You're Handsome [미남이시네요], A story about the behind-the-scenes life of an idol group called "A.N.JELL", their difficulties, love and career ends on 26 Nov 09 (Thur). The best Kdrama in 2009!!!

Tae Kyung [Jang Geun Seok / 장근석], Shin Woo [Jung Yong Hwa / 정용화] and On Yu aka Jeremy [Lee Hong Ki / 이홍기] are in search of a new member for their idol group, A.N.JELL. However, Mi Nam suffers an injury at the last moment. So Mi Nyu [Park Shin Hye / 박신혜], his twin sister, is asked to step in for her brother. The rest of the drama tells how 3 of the members slowly fall in love with Mi Nam aka Mi Nyu.
There are a few scenes that I really like from this Kdrama.

Episode 7: When Shin Woo secretly follows Mi Nyu around Myeongdong. Shin Woo (Jung Yong Hwa) was a total charming prince in that outfit. Although Jung Yong hwa's character is pretty similar to Jihoo sunbae [Kim Hyun Joong] in 'Boys over flowers' but he just makes me 'fell in love' with him. Hehe...
Don't he looks charming in this outfit?Episode 9: Lee Hong Ki from F.T. Island as Jeremy is a super cutie. When he drove Mi Nam around in his motorbike as his 1st recording celebration party, he just makes you fell in love with his cuteness.

Episode 12: Once again, Jung Yong Hwa (Shin Woo) just makes you 'fall in love' with him. Watch the below clip & you will know what I meant. ;)

Episode 13: 'Awesome' is the word to describe this episode. I simply love this episode!!! What can I say about this epi?!? Shin Woo was cool & charming through out the episode!!! He really can act very well considering this was his first Kdrama. If I were Mi Nyu, my choice will definitely be Shin Woo instead of Tae Kyung. Keke...

Not to forget Tae Kyung was good too. I am surprised as an young actor he is able to act very well with the different characters given to him. He was good in 'Hwang Jini', 'Beethoven Virus' & now in 'You're Beautiful'. Surprisingly / unexpectedly, Jang Geun Seok & Park Shin Hye sing very well. ;)

Episode 14: Tae Kyung was such a cheeky monkey when he asks Mi Nyu out for a movie & indirectly ask her to hold his hands to lead them to their seats. Tae Kyung swoops in for a kiss when they were on the deck overlooking the city when Mi Nyu thought he will use his knuckle to hit her to give her 5 stars. SoOoOoo sweet & romantic of Tae Kyung... Nice scene here.

Episode 15: When Mi Nyu bows to Tae Kyung & walks away. Tae-kyung grabs her hand but he doesn't pull her to him or face her, just clasps it tightly. Without looking at each other, without even speaking, they both fight their tears for a long time. Mi Nyu struggles to compose herself and her voice as she says, without turning to face him: "Very far in the future, if things become even a little better, without making you feel sorrier, I will let you know that I've become okay." After they stand like that, she slowly pulls her hand free. Oh! This scene really 'breaks' my heart...

Episode 16: I LOVE the last episode!!!

My personal opinion, 'You're Beautiful' is a much better kdrama than 'Boys over flower'. Highly recommended! But... I am disappointed with the part 2 of the OST because Jung Yong Hwa's version of 'Song for a fool' wasn't included!!! Argh... ... ...

P.S. If only Mi Nyu ended up with Shin Woo in the end. I'm gonna miss this kdrama. ;)

Final group photo of You’re Beautiful’s A.N.JELL revealed

Today, a final group photo was unveiled on the official homepage of SBS's You're Beautiful.

The picture revealed Park Shin Hye holding a cake with Hong Sung Chang PD, Jang Geun Suk, Lee Hongki, Jung Yong Hwa, After School's UEE, Kim In Kwon, and Chae Soo Eun standing together with smiles.

The caption to this photo reads,
After today, we will only be able to see A.N.JELL through the pictures and videos in the homepage, right? At dawn today, A.N.JELL, the boss, coordinator and director gathered together for our final group photo.

You're Beautiful is now finished after the broadcast of its final (16th) episode on the 26th. Taking over on December 2nd will be the new drama titled, Will It Snow On Christmas?, with cast consisting of Han Ye Seul, Go Soo, Sun Woo Sun and Song Jong Ho.

This drama has gone by so quickly... what did you guys think of it?

It’s Hard to Say Goodbye for You’re Beautiful’s Tae Kyung

It seems like fans of You're Beautiful aren't the only ones sad to see the drama end I DEFINITELY AM T________T since Jang Geun Suk has expressed some disappointment on his part as well.

Jang Geun Suk said,
"I've been so happy during the times I was living as 'Hwang Tae Kyung' that it'll be really hard for me to let that character go. I've become quite close with writers Hong Jung Eun and Hong Mi Ran, director Hong Sung Chan, all the staff that worked hard to make this drama, and all the actors I've worked with through the filming of this drama, so I'm really saddened to bid my farewells to them as well. Previously, I've acted roles of characters who were much older and mature than I am, or more tough and cynical than I am - but my character in 'You're Beautiful' was very close in age to me and I was free to depict cute and happy parts of my character for once, which made me happy. Hwang Tae Kyung is similar to me in the sense that I hate putting less than my all into everything I do, and I can't stand it if I'm lacking anything in something I'm trying to do. It's not because I want to hear things like. 'You're doing really well,' 'You're the best,' and other things like that. It's because I feel that the viewers won't be satisfied if I myself am not satisfied with my work. I'm the type to try my best in everything, whether or not I can do it. I feel like I could've done better if I re-filmed this drama, but I put all my efforts into it and did my best so I have no regrets, even though I'm a bit sad."

And he had a final message for all his fans who loved the drama: "Thank you for all your love. If there is ever a Season 2 of this drama, I'd really love to meet all of you again."

At any rate, our Tae Kyung Jang Geun Suk will be boarding an airplane headed for Japan on the 28th to host a fan meeting in Tokyo's Nakano Sun Plaza on the 29th. Oh, those lucky Japanese fans...

You're Beautiful viewers want Shinwoo-Minam couple

SBS You're Beautiful's viewers voted on which couple they want to see come together on the show.

The winning couple was Go Minam (Park Shin Hye) and Kang Shinwoo (Jung Yong Hwa). The two received 48.1% of the votes which is quite a lot. That equals 5,563 votes! Then came Go Minam and Hwang Taekyung (Jang Geun Suk). They received second place with 43% with 4,971 votes. 3rd place was Jeremy (Lee Hongki) and Go Minam. The last place went to Hwang Tae Kyung and Yoo He Yi (UEE).

Though most are hoping for a happy ending between Shinwoo and Minam, it doesn't seem like that will happen. On today's episode, Shinwoo reveals his feelings for Minam but Minam turns him down. There is only one episode left and everyone's looking forward to who will end up together. But knowing Korean dramas, it's quite obvious who will end up as a couple.

Lee Hongki shared his thoughts on the upcoming last episode, "I remember the part where I sang 'Good Saying' the most. The director told me to just do the scene as I felt. I tried to really show my emotions. The lights director, staff, Shin Hye and others started crying on set. I was surprised viewers cried in that scene!"

He continued to share about his experience, "In this drama, I wasn't the singer Lee Hongki. I was the actor Hongki and it was easier since I was acting as an idol singer. If it were to have a second season, I would love to be Jeremy again but if I couldn't I would even love to do a cameo. I actually want to make A.N.JELL come alive for real."

Hongki also spoke about his future plans and said this thank you's, "I would love to act more. I want to make more viewers cry with my acting. I would even want to try a villain's role. Fans brought Sam-Gye-Tang(Korean chicken soup) and Seolleongtang(Korean ox soup) to set and it always helped me get through the filming."

It feels like the drama just started and now it's ending. Did you all enjoy You're Beautiful?

A.N.JELL holds its last concert

As previously announced, the cast of SBS's You're Beautiful held another mini-concert on November 23, where footage was shot for the drama's final episode, which airs this Thursday.

The mini-concert was held at Seoul's Melon AX Hall at 6pm and featured all four of its main cast members — Jang Geun-seok, Park Shin-hye, Lee Hong-ki, Jung Yong-hwa — who make up the fictional idol band A.N.JELL in the show. Even with only a few days' notice, a crowd of more than 2,500 fans showed up.

A source with the production company explained, "The first concert happened before the drama began airing, and I was shocked by fans who showed up through word of mouth. But this ending concert doesn't even compare to that in how much the fans cheered, which made me feel the enthusiasm for the drama for real. The actors and production team were spurred by that as they continue filming."


Naturally, the concert featured the songs that have been prominently featured in the drama, which were sung by the actors themselves. Those included A.N.JELL's "Promise" and "Still"; Jang Geun-seok also sang a few solos with "Good Bye" and "What Do I Do," the latter of which is the track Tae-kyung remakes for his mother in the drama. Park Shin-hye sang her character's theme song, "Lovely Day."

Jang said, "Now that You're Beautiful is ending, I feel really sad. SBS is wondering if they should seriously consider making a Season 2. Because we were scheduled against such a huge drama [IRIS], there was a lot of talk about us being doomed to die in the timeslot, but the fact that we stayed alive is the power of you all."

(Note: Don't get too carried away — this does NOT mean there will be a Season 2!)

After everything had ended, Jang said, "Thank you for coming to our final episode shoot. Thanks to you, I'm very happy." Park Shin-hye said, "Thanks to You're Beautiful, I've gained so much." Lee Hong-ki concluded by saying, "In the future, we won't be acting just as A.N.JELL anymore but as individuals, so please keep watching for us. Later on, I'll set up my own agency and produce A.N.JELL myself."

Meanwhile, the soundtrack continues to be a hit. Last month, it had sold more than 20,000 albums within its first week, which is an unusually high number for a soundtrack. Well, it has continued to perform strongly and has now sold more than 30,000 units total.

A.N.JELL to hold a second mini-concert

Prior to the drama's premiere, a mini-concert had been staged featuring A.N.JELL, the band within the drama You're Beautiful, for concert scenes that were used in an early episode. With the drama coming to a close, producers have announced that they’ll be holding a second mini-concert in two days' time.

The first mini-concert was held on September 20, and although the drama hadn't yet aired, 1,500 people showed up to participate as audience members. (I'm sure it helped that Jang Geun-seok and Lee Hong-ki already had solid fanbases.) This second concert's footage will be used in the upcoming week's finale episode, and a notice has been posted on the official webpage inviting fans to participate. It will take place at 6pm on November 23 at the same location as the first concert, Seoul's MelOn AX Hall.

Meanwhile, You're Beautiful wraps up its broadcast run this Thursday with Episode 16. (I know there are rumors about a Season 2, but I'm pretty sure that's wishful thinking based on half-joking words. Apparently Jung Chan, who plays President Ahn Sung-chan, capped off an interview by spouting a litany of English words — in the style of his character — which included, "Jackpot, season 2, let's go!")

Ashes: Oh! I do hope there's season 2 coz I will definitely miss Jung Yong Hwa when 'You're Beautiful' wraps up on this Thursday. ;)

You're Beautiful

The next kdrama which I am following after completing 'Heading to the Ground' is SBS' You're Beautiful [미남이시네요] which broadcast on 7th Oct every Wednesday & Thursday at 9:55PM.

I am liking this kdrama although only managed to catch the first 2 episodes. Park Shin Hye casted as Go Mi Nam (Male) / Go Mi Nyu (Female) is really funny & her acting skills improved tremendously compared to her character in 'Goong S'.

The rest of the members of 'A.N.JELL' include Jang Geun Seok of 'Beethoven Virus'. Lee Hong Ki from F.T. Island & Jung Yong Hwa of C.N. Blue [Code Name Blue].

Somehow find this kdrama pretty similar to 'Coffee Prince' & 'Boys over Flowers'. Hmmm... This kdrama should be able to keep me entertain for at least another 14 hours. Keke...
